The primary goal of developing a water cover is to contain and mitigate any environmental impact of the material of concern. Disposal of mine waste material in subaqueous environments can be a feasible means of reducing the reactivity of that waste to weathering processes.

Lorax Environmental has an extensive background in prefeasibility studies, implimentations, and monitoring of subaqueous mine waste deposition.

Lorax works to determine the baseline conditions of the deposition site via analysing the physical, geochemical, and biological attributes of the site. Then utilising data and observations Lorax is able to develop models to determine the fate of the material deposited, as well as the fate of the surrounding system.
